montreal 2003
My friend, Paulo, and I took a trip to Montreal, Quebec for Saint-Jean Baptiste day festivities in the last week of June, 2003. I had been a year earlier on my trip across Canada and had a great time, so I decided to go back. It was a five day trip, beautiful weather, lots of great food and another long night of Ste-Jean Baptise day celebrations.
Our hostel, l'Auberge de Jeunesse, was just 10 minute walk from downtown. We spent the first day wandering around in the heat. Above is Paulo looking for books at a tent bookstore along the St. Lawrence River  and on the left is Paulo, exhausted, after I made him walk around for five hours.

Quintessental Montreal, a flower stand in downtown. Below, Paulo expressing his anger at me after a long day of sightseeing in 38C heat.
I swear the one on the far left looks just like Mike, back in the day.

We met this guy, Ryan, at the hostel. He had driven up from Boston for a few days. We all hiked up Mont Royal together. Left, Paulo on top of Mont Royal. Right, Ryan and Paulo taking a rest near the top of the mountain. Below, Ryan and myself at Lac Au Castors (Beaver Lake) at the summit.
We met Stevie, travelling by herself, at the hostel too, and spent Ste-Jean Baptiste Day hanging out and drinking on the shores of the St. Lawrence. Later that night, was the parade and a huge free concert near the Olympic Stadium. I also met up with another friend from Vancover, Jamie-Lynn, who was stopping in Montreal on her way back from Universite Ste-Anne in Nova Scotia.
Another friend of mine, Kerem, at his university in Montreal. He was in my class at Universite Ste-Anne the previous year.
Another roommate from the hostel, Stephan, going for it with a guy in a squirrel costume.
I met Linda, from Switzerland, at the hostel one night and a bunch of us all went out to Bar Tokyo together.
