gyeongpo beach marathon
June 13, 2004 - The Second Annual Gyeongpo Beach Marathon. There were three different routes: a 4.5km around Gyeongpo Lake, a 10km around the lake and down the road and a 22km half marathon. We all ran the 4.5km around the lake, except for the trooper Glyn who did the 22km. It was a hot day, almost 35C, which made it even harder, well for me at least. I can't even imagine what Glyn must've gone through...chaffed nipples, that's all I'll say.

Of course, you must start out with the obligatory stretching regime, several small groups broke off.

My lame attempt at creating a panoramic photo of the line up for free kimchi and tofu after the race. There was another tent serving up free dongdongju (rice wine) and we all got goody bags with a really nasty piece of bread and some plum juice, along with our "Finisher" medals.
After that, it was just another day at the beach...beer, makkeolli, sun, sand and surf...the Red Mask even made it out for a tan...sexy!
