mureung valley
Christa and I went to the Mureung Valley in November 2005 to see the changing colours of the leaves for fall. Many, many, many Koreans come from all over the country to both the Mureung Valley and Seoraksan National Park to see this. Mureung Valley was particularly nice because of the number of Japanese Maple trees there, and the contrast between the red, green and orange. We went on a Sunday afternoon and the park was packed with Korean families. It took us almost three hours each way just to get there and back, so we ended up only having just over one hour for our hike. The Mureung Valley is located just south of Donghae city on Korea's Northeastern coast.

As you can see, the view and the colours were amazing. There were a lot of different trails in the forest and a small temple complex as well. We followed an ancient road to two different waterfalls.
This was the second waterfall here. There were many ancient carvings in the rocks behind surrounding it and up the side of the mountain.
